Brian Gwozdz
Chairman

Experience
Brian served as the membership director, secretary, and vice president of the UMass Amherst Republican Club from 2005-2007. With Brian serving as membership director in the spring of 2006, active and email membership more than doubled in the UMRC. He was elected executive vice chairman of the MACR in 2006. Having met and worked with many hard-working College Republicans across the state in that capacity, Brian was elected chairman of the MACR in April 2007. As chairman, Brian raised more than seven times the amount of money raised in the previous year and brought MACR activism to new arenas by organizing statewide rallies, a debate with the College Democrats, and garnering attention in the news media.

Brian spent this summer as an intern at Washington-based lobbying firm Americans for Tax Reform under former MACR Executive Director Grover Norquist.  Having transferred to Boston College in the fall of 2007, Brian has witnessed first-hand the successful operation of various chapter clubs at a local level.  Having extended MACR relations to new campuses and to other state and local conservative activist groups, Brian is familiar with the dynamics of expansion in the College Republicans in Massachusetts and how to make their activism effective and noticeable in state and local politics.

Brian is now a junior at Boston College majoring in economics with a minor in mathematics.

Vision

I am running to be re-elected chairman of the Massachusetts Alliance of College Republicans because I am proud of what the MACR has accomplished this past year and I have high hopes for the future.

I see the MACR at its most powerful and most effective when it reaches the greatest number of people.  My main goal for 2008-09 is to reach as many new people as possible, through news media, new online communications, STORM, and by organizing and coordinating chapter events to reach new members at College Republican clubs young and old.

In an effort to get all of our clubs on the same page, I will hold bi-weekly statewide conference calls for chapter chairs and continue to hold accountable the Executive Board of the MACR.  I also seek to expand the healthy and fruitful relationships that we have built this year with conservative groups throughout Massachusetts.

Please read carefully my goals on this site for the future of the MACR and feel free to contact me with any questions or suggestions!
